M’Sila / Mr. Nadjm Eddine Tayyar, Wali of the Wilaya, presided today, Wednesday, 07 October 2026, over the launch of the ploughing and sowing campaign for the 2026-2027 agricultural season at the farm in the Municipality of Chellal, in the presence of the following officials and representatives: the President of the Wilaya People’s Assembly, members of the Wilaya Security Committee, Members of Parliament, the Local Delegate of the Ombudsman of the Republic, the Director of Civil Protection, the Conservator of Forests, the Head of the Chellal Daïra, the Director of Agricultural Services, Directors of the Wilaya Executive Departments, the President of the People’s Communal Assembly of Chellal, the Director of Sonelgaz in M’Sila, the Director of the Cereals and Dry Pulses Cooperative, the President of the Chamber of Agriculture, the Wilaya Secretary of the Farmers’ Union, the Director of the National Office of Agricultural Land in M’Sila, the Director of the Agricultural Mutuality Fund, the Director of the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Director of the Company for the Marketing of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery, Directors of the various support mechanisms, representatives of the agricultural sector, operators active in the field of agriculture, and members of the media.
Mr. Wali of the Wilaya and the accompanying delegation received a presentation on the current situation of the agricultural sector, supported by statistical data and indicators, in addition to presentations delivered by various partners and stakeholders in the sector. He subsequently visited an exhibition showcasing agricultural products.
The Wali then presided over a ceremony honouring the officials of the Directorate of Agricultural Services responsible for monitoring the harvesting and threshing campaign and for entering data on the NAIS digital platform.
In preparation for the current agricultural season, various types of seeds and fertilizers have been made available at the points of sale operated by the Cereals and Dry Pulses Cooperative. Points of sale for various types of seeds have also been scheduled to open across the municipalities of the wilaya in order to facilitate farmers’ access to seeds.
On this occasion, the Wali of the Wilaya called on farmers and all members of the agricultural community to participate in the national programme promoted by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as part of a national plan aimed at achieving food security for the country.
Furthermore, the Wali of the Wilaya stated that all necessary measures had been taken, in coordination with the various relevant services, to mobilize efforts to protect agricultural resources from various risks, particularly those arising from adverse weather conditions. He also stressed the need for all partners in the agricultural sector to maintain a high level of vigilance.
